Shoremen Dampen Gophers, 90-66
Morgan Wins Two Individual Events

TOWSON, MD - Visiting Washington College cruised to a 90-66 win over host Goucher College in a non-conference men's swim meet this evening in Towson, MD. The Shoremen, who improved, to 5-2 with the win, built a big lead early in the meet and entered the final four events as exhibitions only.

Freshman Justin Morgan (Colonia, NJ/St. Joseph) won the 200 freestyle in 1:53.83 and the 100 freestyle in 52.37. Freshman Chris Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) finished first in the 50 freestyle in 23.34, senior Colin Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) took the 200 individual medley in 2:06.95, and freshman Dylan Pollock (Savannah, GA/Benedictine Military) won the 100 butterfly in 57.61.

Washington's 200 medley relay team of junior Brandon Becker (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks East), Colin Soper, junior Alex Thomas (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall), and sophomore Dan Wentzel (Exton, PA/Henderson) also took first place in 1:46.02.

Sophomore Phil Munger (Devon, PA/Conestoga) was second in both the 50 freestyle in 24.05 and the 100 freestyle in 53.40. Pollock was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.19, while Thomas took second in the 100 butterfly in 57.68.

Chris Soper posted the top time in the 500 freestyle (5:13.33) as an exhibition entrant. Colin Soper recorded a meet-best 1:04.13 in the 100 breaststroke as an exhibition, while Chris Soper, Wentzel, Pollock, and junior Eddie Raleigh (Hanover, PA/Southwestern) had the best time of 1:33.88 in the 200 freestyle relay as an exhibition.

The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Dickinson.
