January 29, 2005 CARLISLE, PA - Host Dickinson College defeated visiting Washington College, 132-67, in Centennial Conference men's swimming this afternoon in Carlisle, PA. Freshman Alex Thomas (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall) won two events for the Shoremen (4-4, 1-3 Centennial) in the loss. Thomas won the 200 individual medley in a WC season-best time of 2:06.29 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:21.17. Sophomore Colin Soper (Towson, MD/Loyola Blakefield) finished second in a pair of races - the 1000 freestyle (11:19.00) and the 500 freestyle (5:02.33). Freshman Brandon Becker (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks East), freshman Eddie Raleigh (Hanover, PA/Southwestern), and senior Ken Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) each recorded one individual second-place finish. Becker was second in the 200 backstroke in 2:08.91, Raleigh finished second in the 200 freestyle in 1:53.71, and Jensen placed second in the 200 butterfly in 2:11.38. The Shoremen will compete in their final home meet of the season next Saturday when they host McDaniel at 1:00 p.m. |
