Shoremen Drop Meet to Diplomats
Wesolek, Evans Lead WC Effort

CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Washington College men's swim team fell to visiting Franklin & Marshall, 122-74, this afternoon in a Centennial Conference meet at Casey Swim Center. The loss drops the Shoremen's record this season to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial, while the Diplomats improved to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial.

Senior John Paul Evans (Westminster, MD/Westminster) won two individual events for the Shoremen, finishing first in the 200 individual medley in 2:05.25 and in the 200 breaststroke in 2:20.43. Sophomore Andy Wesolek (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) finished first in the 50 freestyle in 22.89 and was second in the 500 freestyle in 5:03.99. Wesolek's time in the 500 makes him WC's ninth-fastest swimmer ever in that event. Senior Alex Kuhn (Washington, PA/McGuffey) added second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:06.64) and the 200 backstroke (2:08.11).

Washington also won the 400 medley relay as the team of Wesolek, Evans, Kuhn, and Chris Tinsman (Georgetown, DE/home school) finished in 3:51.00.

The Shoremen return to action December 6th with a 1:00 p.m. meet at Elizabethtown.
