4, 2001 CHESTER, PA - Senior Ryan Behles (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall) swam to one first-place finish and sophomore Alex Kuhn (Washington, PA/McGuffey) swam to two, but the Washington College Shoremen dropped a 107-66 non-conference meet at Widener this evening. The loss drops the Shoremen to 2-3 this season. Behles took first in the 1000 freestyle in 10:38.63, while Kuhn won the 200 individual medley in 2:02.27 and the 200 backstroke in 2:00.60. Behles also collected the first-place points in the 500 freestyle, as Widener entered only exhibition swimmers after the meet's outcome had been decided. Junior Pat Cline (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) finished second in the 100 butterfly in 56.60. Behles' time in the 1000 free was a season-best for WC, while the 200 medley relay team of freshman Conor Caporale (Laguna Niguel, CA/Dana Hills), Kuhn, Cline, and freshman Kenneth Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) swam to a WC season-best time of 1:47.04. The Shoremen return to action Friday with a 6:00 p.m. home meet against Goucher. |
