17, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Washington College men's swim team fell to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in conference action with a 120-71 home dual meet loss to Franklin & Marshall this afternoon at the Casey Swim Center. Sophomore Alex Kuhn (Washington, PA/McGuffey) swam season-best times of 5:06.08 and 1:50.35 in the 500 and 200 freestyles, respectively. His time in the 500 earned him first place and he finished second in the 200. Sophomore John Evans (Westminster, MD/Westminster) won a pair of individual events, taking the 200 butterfly in a season-best time of 2:05.06 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.07. Senior Ryan Behles (Towson, MD/Calvert Hall) swam a season-best time of 10:47.02 in the 1000 freestyle, which was good enough for second place. The 400 medley relay team of Kuhn, Evans, junior Pat Cline (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional), and junior J.C. Cronin (Newark, DE/Newark) touched the wall in 3:51.51, the fastest time this season for WC in that event. The quartet finished in second place. The Shoremen return to action November 30th for the start of the three-day ECAC Championships at Gloucester County Institute of Technology. |
