CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Zachary Todd scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to lift visiting Arcadia to a 3-2 win over host Washington College in a wild non-conference men's soccer game tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Knights improved to 2-1-1 with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 1-2 with the loss.

The Knights got on the board when Tom Svitak sent a cross into the box from the right-hand side that was booted into the goal by Benjamin Smith at 19:30. Sophomore forward Mike Vanaskie (Lancaster, PA/Cocalico) evened the score at 1-1 for the Shoremen when he kneed in a corner kick sent from freshman defender Trevor Wittman (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) at 29:47. Arcadia regained the lead when Anthony Procopio scored off a pass ahead from Todd at 43:08. The Knights held a 7-4 advantage in shots in the first half.

The Shoremen evened the score at 2-2 when freshman midfielder/defender Ryan Duffy (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) scored on a penalty kick following a foul in the box and red card issued to Arcadia goalkeeper Jeff Kratohwill at 60:08. Arcadia was issued a second red card 28 seconds after the goal when Matt Nowicki was ejected for a hard foul.

Washington junior goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) was issued for a red card for a hard foul in the box at 63:40, but Joe Clementi's penalty kick was saved by Washington sophomore goalkeeper Chris Phipps (Newark, DE/St. Mark's).
