McDaniel Trips Up Shoremen in OT, 1-0
Bedrock Makes Five Saves in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Joseph Potucek scored 54 seconds into overtime to give visiting McDaniel College a 1-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer win over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Green Terror improved to 3-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play, while the Shoremen fell to 2-7 and 0-4.

Potucek beat a defender on a breakaway to fire in the first shot of overtime and give McDaniel the win at 90:54.

McDaniel held a 6-5 advantage in shots in the first half. Washington senior midfielder Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) had a penalty kick go high at 43:10 in one of the few scoring opportunities in a defensive-heavy first half. The Shoremen held a 7-6 advantage in shots in the second half.

Junior goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) made five saves in the loss for Washington, while Robert Hollasch made four stops for McDaniel.

The Shoremen return to action Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game at Catholic.
