Diplomats Stump Shoremen, 4-0

LANCASTER, PA -- Host Franklin & Marshall College scored twice in each half to post a 4-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats improved to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 2-5 and 0-2.

F&M got on the board at 30:12 when Adam Parr scored off a failed clear from 12 yards out. The Diplomats made it 2-0 before halftime when Tom DeMaio scored an unassisted goal at 41:18.

The Diplomats scored twice in an 89-second span in the second half to push the lead to 4-0 as Matt Krantz found Graham Mandl for a goal at 60:06 and Matt Melino scored off a direct kick at 61:35.

Franklin & Marshall held a 12-5 advantage in shots in the game, though Washington enjoyed a 7-2 margin in corner kicks. Zach Zamek played the first 72:14 in goal for the Diplomats, recording five saves. Lane Bodian went the rest of the way in goal for F&M. Sophomore goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) made five saves for the Shoremen.

The Shoremen return to action next Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Swarthmore.
