24, 2007 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Host Washington College scored all four goals in the first half of a 4-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer win tonight over visiting Haverford College tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen improved to 6-10 overall and 1-7 in conference play with the win, while the Fords fell to 2-13-1 and 0-7-1. Junior forward/midfielder Tony Armiger (Glen Arm, MD/Loch Raven) gave the Shoremen a 1-0 lead at the 4:20 mark when he deflected in a booming ball sent right in front of the goal by junior forward Brian Schultz (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall). Junior midfielder Brian Danver (Bethany Beach, DE/St. Albans, DC) scored Washington's second goal at 20:04 on a direct kick. Schultz made it 3-0 with a goal off an assist from senior midfielder Frank Borelli (Malaga, NJ/Delsea Regional) at 29:27. Schultz then returned the favor, feeding Borelli for a goal in the lower right corner at 40:34 to round out the scoring. Washington held a 24-10 advantage in shots in the game and a 7-6 edge in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Marc Petrucci (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove) played the first 67:55 in goal for Washington, making three saves, while freshman goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) went the rest of the way and made one save. Adam Care made five saves in 76:33 for Haverford, while Jamie Applegate made four saves in 13:27. The Shoremen return to action Saturday with their season finale - a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins.
