18, 2007 DOYLESTOWN, PA -- Visiting Washington College topped host Delaware Valley College, 5-2, in a non-conference men's soccer game today in Doylestown, PA. The Shoremen improved to 3-4 with the win, while the Aggies fell to 1-7 with the loss. Junior defender Wes Schantz (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) put the Shoremen on the board at 4:14 with his first collegiate goal. Junior midfielder Conor Halesworth (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) made it 2-0 at 23:17. Delaware Valley got on the board 29 seconds later as Eric Maciag scored off a pass from Nathan Knight. The Shoremen then increased their lead to 3-1 with the first of two goals by junior forward Brian Schultz (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) at 36:31. Schultz scored again at 41:20 to give Washington a 4-1 advantage at halftime. The Aggies netted their second goal when Maciag found Jeremy Fennell at 65:30, put Washington tallied its fifth goal at 86:24 when senior midfielder Gabe Dopazo (Washington, DC/Winston Churchill) scored. Freshman goalkeeper Alex Litvack (Weston, MA/Weston) made four saves for the Shoremen in the first half. Freshman goalkeeper James Bedrock (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) played the second half in goal for Washington, making three saves. Nick D'Amato made five stops for the Aggies. Washington held a 14-9 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in corner kicks in the game. The Shoremen return to action Friday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Franklin & Marshall.
