16, 2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Senior midfielder Jordan Lange (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) scored the only goal of the game in the 101st minute as the host Washington College men's soccer team topped visiting Ursinus, 1-0, in double overtime this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The game was the conference opener for both teams. After a scoreless 90 minutes, the Shoremen (3-1) got off three shots in the first overtime period, while the Bears (0-4-1) attempted two. Lange's game-winner was the first shot of the second overtime period. Lange passed the ball to sophomore midfielder Conor Halesworth (Randolph, NJ/Randolph). Halesworth then passed the ball back to a cutting Lange, who fired in the golden goal at 100:25. Washington junior goalkeeper Marc Petrucci (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove) made eight saves en route to his second collegiate shutout and his second in the past three games. Ed de Gottal made 11 stops for the Bears. The Shoremen held a 21-16 advantage in shots in the game; Ursinus maintained a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. game at Immaculata.
