2006 WESTMINSTER, MD -- Host McDaniel College took a 2-0 lead in the second half and held on for a 2-1 Centennial Conference men's soccer win over visiting Washington College in the season finale for both teams this afternoon in Westminster, MD. Neither team scored in the first half, but the Green Terror (9-9, 4-5 Centennial) took the lead on a rebound goal by Andrew Cherenzia at 55:58. McDaniel quickly increased the margin to 2-0 as Brett Russo scored at 58:05. Washington (8-8, 2-7) got on the board when senior forward Josh Todd (Crisfield, MD/Crisfield) scored on a breakaway at 61:02, but the Shoremen could not tie the game. Christian Maisel made nine saves for the Green Terror, while Washington junior goalkeeper Marc Petrucci (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove) made four stops for the Shoremen. McDaniel held a 14-13 advantage in shots. Each team recorded five corner kicks in the game.
