Fords Foil Shoremen, 2-0
Petrucci Makes Eight Saves

HAVERFORD, PA -- Host Haverford College scored both goals in the second half in a 2-0 Centennial Conference men's soccer win over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Haverford, PA. The Fords improved to 2-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play, while the Shoremen fell to 4-4 and 1-3.

Each team got off 10 shots in a scoreless first half. Chris Doiguardi put the Fords on the scoreboard at 45:33 off an assist from Eric Kissinger. Haverford added an insurance goal by Charlie Rubin at 81:12.

Jim Wiltsee played the first half in goal for the Fords, while Adam Care played the second. Wiltsee had three saves, while Care finished with four. Junior goalkeeper Marc Petrucci (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove) made eight saves for the Shoremen.

Washington held a 23-18 advantage in shots and a 6-5 edge in corner kicks in the game.

The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference home game against FDU-Florham.
