13, 2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Goucher College scored a pair of second half goals to rally past host Washington, 2-1, in a non-conference men's soccer game tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen slipped to 2-1 with the loss, while the Gophers moved to 4-2 with the win. The Shoremen opened the scoring at the 10:05 mark when senior forward Josh Todd (Crisfield, MD/Crisfield) sent a pass ahead in the box to sophomore forward/midfielder Brian Schultz (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall), who booted the ball into the goal for a 1-0 lead. Goucher evened the score when Gary Decker scored on a penalty kick at 65:47. Decker then assisted on what would prove to be the game-winning goal when he sent a corner kick to Alex Stookey, who headed the ball in to give Goucher a 2-1 lead at 70:46 which would stand up the rest of the way. Goucher goalkeeper Tom Feuerstein made one save in the win, while Washington junior goalkeeper Marc Petrucci (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove) made two saves in the loss. Each team got off 14 shots in the game; Goucher held a slight 5-4 edge in corner kicks. The Shoremen return to action Saturday with their Centennial Conference opener, a 1:00 p.m. home game against Ursinus.
