| October 29, 2005 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting McDaniel College secured the top seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs with a 3-0 victory over host Washington College in the regular season men's soccer finale for both schools this afternoon at Shriver Field. The Green Terror (12-3-2, 6-1-2 Centennial) took a 1-0 lead at 34:14 when Thomas Kane headed in a corner kick from Todd Knepper. Donzell Tate pushed the lead to 2-0 at 53:47 and James Cosby sent a cross to Michael Holt for the third and final goal of the game at 78:46. Andrew Wu made seven saves in the shutout win for the Green Terror. Sophomore goalkeeper Mike Gillis (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) and junior goalkeeper Sean Ferri (Northport, NY/Kings Park) each played a half for the Shoremen and made two saves each. McDaniel held a 14-9 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in corner kicks. The Green Terror will host the semifinals and championships game of the Centennial Conference Playoffs next Saturday and Sunday. Washington finished its season with a 4-12-1 record overall and a 2-6-1 mark in conference play.
