Shoremen Blank Gophers, 2-0
Todd & Schultz Score Goals for Washington

TOWSON, MD -- Junior forward Josh Todd (Crisfield, MD/Crisfield) and freshman forward Brian Schultz (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) each scored one goal as visiting Washington College shut out host Goucher College, 2-0, in men's soccer this afternoon in Towson, MD. The Shoremen improved to 2-4 this season, while the Gophers slipped to 3-3-2.

Todd gave the Shoremen a 1-0 lead at 20:57 when he scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season. Schultz pushed the lead to 2-0 when he scored off an assist from senior midfielder Jaron Putmon (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown).

Washington junior goalkeeper Sean Ferri (Northport, NY/Kings Park) made nine saves en route to his first collegiate career shutout. Tom Feuerstein made four saves for the Gophers.

Goucher held a 15-11 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Muhlenberg.
