| October 22, 2005 LANCASTER, PA -- Host Franklin & Marshall College defeated visiting Washington College, 2-0, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game this afternoon in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats improved to 7-4-3 overall and 4-3 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen slipped to 4-10-1 and 2-4-1 with the loss. Ben Wilson scored the Diplomats' first goal off an assist from Brandon Corday at 11:26. Ryan McGonigle supplied F&M's other goal on a penalty kick at 58:39. F&M held a 27-4 advantage in shots and a 9-3 edge in corner kicks. Ed Stelz made three saves in the shutout for the Diplomats, while Washington junior goalkeeper Sean Ferri (Northport, NY/Kings Park) made 15 saves for the Shoremen. The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 3:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Johns Hopkins.
