October 20, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior midfielder Jaron Putmon (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) scored the only goal of the game to give host Washington College its first Centennial Conference win of the season this afternoon, a 1-0 triumph over visiting Ursinus. The Shoremen improved to 4-8-1 overall and 1-5 in conference play with the win, while the Bears slipped to 3-11 and 0-6. Putmon's goal was his team-leading fourth of the season and came off a cross from senior midfielder Jimmy Pope (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) at 22:40. Washington senior goalkeeper Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) made three saves en route to the shutout. Ursinus goalkeeper Brian Berkowitz tallied four.
