October 23, 2004 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Franklin & Marshall scored the game's only goal in the second half as the visiting Diplomats defeated host Washington College, 1-0, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game this afternoon at Kibler Field. The Diplomats improved to 9-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen dropped to 4-9-1 and 1-6 with the loss. Wallace Eisenhauer scored the Diplomats' goal at the 56:00 mark off an assist from Ryan McGonigle. Edward Stelz made five saves in goal for Franklin & Marshall, which held a 16-8 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. Washington senior goalkeeper Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) made nine saves, including one on a penalty kick by Dan Mills at 74:10. The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at second-ranked Johns Hopkins.
