25, 2003 COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- Senior midfielder/forward Geoff Foltyn (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) and junior midfielder/forward Tom Baker (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) each scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Washington College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over host Ursinus College this afternoon in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. Ursinus (3-5 overall, 0-1 Centennial) got on the board first when Chris Hood scored at the 17:29 mark. It was the first goal given up by the Shoremen since the second game of the season. The Bears took their 1-0 lead into the intermission. The Shoremen (4-1-1 overall, 1-0 Centennial) tied things up when Foltyn knocked in goal assisted by Baker at 63:00. Foltyn then assisted on the game-winning goal by Baker at 71:43 to lift the Shoremen to the victory. WC junior goalkeeper Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston), who made one save in the contest, has now held ten consecutive opponents to under two goals, dating back to last season. Brian Berkowitz made four saves in goal for Ursinus. The Shoremen are back in action Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at 16th-ranked Muhlenberg.
