1, 2003 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Playing in his final regular season game, senior forward/midfielder Geoff Foltyn (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall) scored one goal and assisted on the other as the host Washington College men's soccer team topped McDaniel, 2-1, in Centennial Conference action this afternoon at Kibler Field. The Green Terror (13-6-1, 5-3-1 Centennial) got on the board first when Matt Doyle scored off an assist from Todd Knepper at 29:41. The Shoremen (9-5-3, 4-3-2 Centennial) tied things up on a break when Foltyn sent a pass ahead of the McDaniel defense to sophomore defender Ben Fulford (Lutherville, MD/Towson), who streaked past two defenders and knocked the ball into the opposite corner at 39:52. The goal was the first of Fulford's collegiate career. Foltyn scored what would prove to be the game-winner at 55:33 when he sent a goal past McDaniel goalkeeper Andrew Wu, who had come out of the box. Washington junior goalkeeper Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) made three saves for the Shoremen. Wu, who played 77:52, made two saves and allowed one goal. McDaniel's Nick Hall played the final 12:08 of the first half and allowed Fulford's goal. Each team had nine shots in the game. McDaniel held a 5-2 advantage in corners.
