23, 2002 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Sophomore forward David Dudick (Hudson, OH/Western Reserve Academy) scored two goals and sophomore goalie Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) recorded his first collegiate shutout as the Washington College Shoremen blanked visiting Villa Julie, 4-0, in non-conference action this afternoon on Kibler Field. The Shoremen broke a four-game losing streak and improved to 7-7-1 with the win, while the Mustangs slipped to 2-13-2. Dudick got the Shoremen on the board just 1:34 into the game when he scored on a pass from senior forward T.J. Velykis (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Regional). The score remained 1-0 until the 65:47 mark when senior back Steve Yurchak (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Regional) blasted in a direct kick from midfield. Dudick added his second goal of the game of an assist from senior midfielder Tim Buckless (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) at 75:06. Sophomore midfielder Tom Baker (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) rounded out the scoring off an assist from Velykis at 81:24. Miller made five saves as the Shoremen held an opponent scoreless for the first time this season. The Shoremen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Haverford.
