Shoremen Fall 1-0 to Catholic
WC Returns to Conference Play Saturday

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Catholic University today at Kibler Field. The loss was the the Shoremen's fifth this season by one goal and dropped their record to 1-8-1. The Cardinals improved to 6-1-1 with the win.

Catholic scored the game's only goal at 46:45 when senior forward Gregg McGuirl (Iselin, NJ/John F. Kennedy Memorial) knocked in an unassisted tally. Cardinal junior goalkeeper Todd Magin (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) made 15 saves in the shutout.

The Shoremen held an 18-16 advantage in shots and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks. Washington freshman goalkeeper Ryan Miller (Bel Air, MD/Fallston) made eight saves in the loss.

The Shoremen return to Centennial Conference play Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at Muhlenberg.
