29, 2005 PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Washington College men's rowing team finished 15th of 44 boats in the men's open four at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta today in Philadelphia, PA. The Shoremen also competed in the men's pair at the regatta. Washington completed the open four in 14:44.84. George Washington University won the race in 13:41.17. Senior Tom Murray (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) served as the coxswain for the Shoremen in the open four. Junior Andrew Bright (Gambrills, MD/DeMatha) sat stroke, junior Ed Mundy (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) was in the three seat, junior Adam Askham (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) was in the two seat, and senior Mike Philipp (Newark, DE/Newark) was the bow. Washington finished 11th of 13 boats in the men's pair in 16:23.60. A Pennsylvania Athletic Club boat won the race in 14:12.50; The University of Pennsylvania's fifth-place boat (14:48.83) was the fastest collegiate boat to completes the race. Sophomore Hugh McAdam (Hollis, NH/Worcester Academy) sat stroke and sophomore Chris Broadwell (Virginia Beach, VA/Cape Henry Collegiate School) was the bow of the Shoremen's pair. The Shoremen's novice rowers will host the Tapke Chase tomorrow on the Chester River. |
