Shoremen Fourth Overall at ACLS

CARLISLE, PA -- The Washington College men's rowing team placed fourth of six schools overall at the Atlantic Collegiate League Sprints regatta this afternoon in Carlisle, PA. The Shoremen's men's varsity four "A" boat placed third of six boats in its race.

Washington's "A" boat completed the varsity four in 6:57.9, while the "B" boat was fifth in 7:08.4. The Shoremen's novice four finished third of four boats in 6:39.8. Washington was fifth of five boats in the varsity eight in 6:17.00 and third of three boats in the second varsity eight in 7:08.4.

Junior Tom Murray (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) served as coxswain of the varsity four "A" boat . Sophomore Andrew Bright (Gambrills, MD/DeMatha) sat stroke, junior Mike Philipp (Newark, DE/Newark) sat in the three seat, sophomore Adam Askham (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) was in the two seat, and junior Martin Dunphy (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) was the bow.

Junior Amanda Whittemore (Media, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) was the coxswain of the varsity four "B" boat. Sophomore Jared Hornyak (Trenton, NJ/Hamilton) sat stroke, sophomore Ryan Trone (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) was in the three seat, freshman Spencer Case (Hudson, OH/Western Reserve Academy) sat in the two seat, and sophomore Adrian Peterson (Perryville, MD/Perryville) was the bow.

Freshman Meredith Weaver (Huntingtown, MD/Calvert) was the coxswain of the Shoremen's novice four. Freshman Chris Broadwell (Virginia Beach, VA/Cape Henry Collegiate School) sat stroke, freshman Trent Cosentino (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's School) was in the three seat, junior Jason Brown (Baltimore, MD/Randallstown) was in the two seat, and freshman Hugh McAdam (Hollis, NH/Worcester Academy) was the bow.

Murray was the coxswain of the Shoremen's varsity eight. Bright sat stroke, Trone was in the seven seat, Askham was in the six seat, Cosentino was in the five seat, Brown was in the four seat, Dunphy was in the three seat, Broadwell was in the two seat, and McAdam was the bow.

Sophomore Caitlin Onyx (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was the coxswain for the Shoremen's second varsity eight. Hornyak sat stroke, Philipp was in the seven seat, junior Kevin Marshall (Silver Spring, MD/RHSM, UT) was in the six seat, Peterson was in the five seat, junior Rick Adrian (Baltimore, MD/Towson) was in the four seat, sophomore Edward Mundy (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) was in the three seat, freshman Kevin McGarry (North Wildwood, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) was in the two seat, and sophomore Matthew Harding (Forest Hill, MD/C. Milton Wright) was the bow.

The Shoremen return to action next Saturday when they host the Mother and Son Regatta on the Chester River.
