2004 LORTON, VA -- The Washington College men's rowing team entered a pair of fours at the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships, held today on the Occoquan Reservoir in Lorton, VA. The Shoremen's varsity four finished third in its heat in 6:55.80. Virginia Tech won the heat in 6:47.10, while Penn State was second in 6:48.66. Maryland (7:09.90), Richard Stockton (7:16.80), and Susquehanna (7:57.50) rounded out the heat. The Shoremen's third-place finish in their heat earned them a spot in the petite final, which they won by finishing in front of Maryland, St. Mary's (MD), William & Mary, American, and St. John's. Times from the petite final were unavailable at press time. Washington's lightweight four also competed today, finishing third in its finals-only event. The Shoremen completed the race in 6:59.00. Carnegie Mellon won the event in 6:42.40, while Penn State was second in 6:43.40 and LaSalle was fourth in 7:11.50. |
