18, 2004 CAMDEN, NJ --The Washington College men's rowing team had two boats advance to the grand finals of separate events this weekend at the Knecht Cup, held Saturday and Sunday on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ. Another Washington boat advanced to the petite final of its event. Washington entered two boats in the Division II/III Varsity Four. The Shoremen's "A" boat advanced to the grand final of the event and finished fourth overall out of 15 entries. Mercyhurst, Geneseo, and Maine Maritime finished in the top three spots, respectively. In the Frosh/Novice Four, Washington advanced to the semifinals and on to the final, where the Shoremen recorded a fourth-place finish out of 31 boats entered in the event overall. The Shoremen's lightweight four boat advanced to petite final. WC finished second in the petite final behind first-place Army and posted the fourth-fastest time overall out of the 15 entries in the event. The Shoremen return to competition Saturday at the Atlantic Collegiate League Sprints Regatta in Carlisle, PA. |
