WAC Four Takes 7th at
Head of the Occoquan

LORTON, VA -- Washington College finished seventh of 28 boats in the men's championship four at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta today in Lorton, VA. The Shoremen also placed 10th of 11 boats in the men's championship eight.

Junior Tom Murray (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) served as coxswain of the championship four boat, which finished the race in 18:34. Sophomore Andrew Bright (Gambrills, MD/DeMatha) sat stroke, sophomore Adam Askham (Simsbury, CT/Simbury) was in the three seat, sophomore Adrian Peterson (Perryville, MD/Perryville) was in the two seat, and junior Martin Dunphy (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) was the bow.

Junior Amanda Whittemore (Media, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) was the coxswain of the Shoremen's championship eight boat, which finished in 18:14. Sophomore Jared Hornyak (Trenton, NJ/Hamilton) sat stroke, freshman Chris Broadwell (Virginia Beach, VA/Cape Henry Collegiate School) was in the seven seat, freshman Hugh McAdam (Hollis, NH/Worcester Academy) was in the six seat, sophomore Ryan Trone (New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) was in the five seat, freshman Trent Cosentino (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's School) was in the four seat, sophomore Edward Mundy (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) was in the three seat, sophomore Josh Arnie (Federalsburg, MD/Colonel Richardson) was in the two seat, and junior Mike Philipp (Newark, DE/Newark) was the bow.

Today's regatta was the final event of the Shoremen's fall racing schedule.
