Shoremen Compete at Knecht Cup
Bronze for Lightweight Four Highlights Regatta

CAMDEN, NJ -- The Washington College men's rowing team competed at the Knecht Cup, held in Camden, NJ, yesterday and today. The lightweight four highlighted the regatta for the Shoremen with a bronze-medal finish.

The lightweight four placed second in its heat in 7:40.7 to make the final. The six-boat final turned out to be an exciting race for the light weights. Down a boat length to Iona, with 250 meters to go, the Shoremen sprinted through and earned the bronze medal improving their time to 7:34.16. WC's lightweight four has yet to place lower than third at any regatta this season.

The novice four fought its way through one of the largest fields in the regatta into the Petite finals. The novices raced in the finals early Sunday morning, after progressing through the heats and earning a spot in the Petite final by finishing inches ahead of Haverford in the semifinals. They placed sixth in the Petite final, their third race in two days.
