19, 2002 BOSTON, MA -- The Washington College men's
rowing squad had one team entrant today at the Head of the Charles Regatta,
the largest crew event in the world. That team, entered in the men's
collegiate eight, finished 38th out of 41 crews in the event. Junior coxswain Nick Mikhalevsky (Arlington, VA/St. Andrew's School, MD) guided the Washington boat across the finish line at 17:42.25. Senior Sean Askham (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) sat in the eight seat, freshman Graham Mellen (Chadds Ford, PA) sat seventh, junior Travis Elliott (Willow Street, PA) sat sixth, senior John Dolan (Millsboro, DE/St. Andrew's School) sat in the five seat, junior Dwayne Yerger (Pottstown, PA/Hill School) sat fourth, junior Justin Smith (Titusville, NJ/George School) sat third, junior Jonathan Lange (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) sat second, and junior Greg Smith (Sykesville, MD/Mount St. Joseph) sat in the one seat. The Shoremen return to action a week from today at the Head of Schuykill Regatta. |
