March 23, 2009 LANCASTER, PA -- Washington College senior midfielder Thayer Damm (Huntingdon Valley, PA/LaSalle) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his dominant performance as a face-off specialist in a pair of Shoremen victories. In a 17-3 win over New England College on Tuesday, Damm went 12-for-12 on face-offs and scooped up 11 ground balls in the first half. After the Shoremen built a 12-1 halftime lead, Damm did not play in the second half. On Saturday, the Shoremen posted a 9-8 Centennial Conference overtime victory at McDaniel. Damm went 13-for-20 on face-offs in the win and scooped up 13 ground balls, giving him a 25-for-32 face-off performance and 24 ground balls in three halves of lacrosse during the week. |
