WC Sweeps CC Player of the Week Awards
Kielek Tabbed for Offense, Cecere for Defense

LANCASTER, PA -- The Washington College men's lacrosse team has swept the Centennial Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 15th. Senior attackman Jimmy Kielek (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while junior defenseman Thom Cecere (Edgewater, MD/St. Mary's) was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

In the Shoremen's 16-7 win over Muhlenberg in Saturday's Centennial Conference opener, Kielek scored three goals and assisted on four others to pace the Washington offense. In that same game, Cecere totaled five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

In Wednesday's 11-7 win at Hampden-Sydney, Kielek tallied one goal and two assists, while Cecere scooped up two ground balls to go along with his first collegiate goal.

This is the third time in his collegiate career Kielek has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after earning the honor twice last season. This is the first time Cecere has been named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
