Shoremen Lacrosse Reaches Sponsorship
Agreement with Onyx/Riddell

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College men's lacrosse team and Onyx/Riddell Lacrosse have recently signed an exclusive helmet sponsorship agreement. The contract will be effective immediately and continue through the 2012 season.  

“We are truly excited and honored to be able to have worked out this sponsorship agreement with Washington College, a program with a rich lacrosse tradition and heritage,” said George Parks, Vice President of Onyx Lacrosse. “The team will be wearing our new XR helmet with a new sleeker face mask and chin combined with Riddell’s patented air cushioning technology. In addition to the new mask and chin we have also utilized new foam technology to improve the liner system and lighten the helmet.”

‘With the increasing attention focused on head injuries and the frequency that they were occurring at the college level, we felt the immediate need to address the situation and find what we feel is the most protective helmet in the industry,“ stated J.B. Clarke, assistant athletic director and head men’s lacrosse coach at Washington College. The new XR combines maximum protection and the aesthetic look and feel of the traditional lacrosse helmet.
