Read Named Inside Lacrosse/Nike Player of the Week

BALTIMORE, MD -- Washington College senior attackman Chris Read (Baltimore, MD/Boys Latin) has been named the Inside Lacrosse/Nike Men's Division III Player of the Week. Read had a game-high five goals and added two assists as the fifth-ranked Shoremen knocked off fourth-ranked Lynchburg, 12-9, in an NCAA Division III Tournament second round game on Sunday.

Read scored twice in the first quarter, once in the second, and once in the third and then finished the game off with a goal and both of his assists in the fourth quarter. Read, who was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team for the third straight season last week, has 51 goals and 25 assists on the season. He is the first Shoreman in four years to reach the 50-goal mark in a season.
