Shoremen Tab Standout High School Coach
for Offensive Coordinator Position

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College head men's lacrosse coach J.B. Clarke has announced the hiring of Fallston (MD) High School head coach Matt Parks as the Shoremen's new senior assistant coach and offensive coordinator.

In his eight seasons at Fallston, posted a head coaching record of 105-33 and was named the Harford County Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2007. He guided his team to the 2001 3A-2A state championship as well as a state runner-up finish in 2007 and a state semifinalist finish in 2002. Under Parks, Fallston won three regional championships and five Harford County Championships. Prior to serving as head coach, Parks spent two years as the assistant varsity coach and offensive coordinator for Fallston.

Parks played collegiate lacrosse for the University of Maryland and was selected for the 1994 Division I North-South Senior All-Star Game. Parks led the Terrapins in goals scored as both a junior and senior and appeared in every game for Maryland from 1991-1994. He twice earned ACC Player of the Week honors and was presented with the Van Trump Truit award in 1994 as Maryland's Outstanding Attackman. Parks was a member of the Terps' 1991 NCAA Division I semifinalist team.

Parks, who also spent two years as the offensive and defensive line coach for Fallston's football team, earned a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice in the fall of 1995.
