CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College Director of Athletics Dr. Bryan Matthews has announced the hiring of Ben Armiger as the College's new Waterfront Director. In that position, he oversaw annual maritime education for over 300 students, facilitated the donation of launch boats for the waterfront program, and expanded the annual gross of the waterfront programs sevenfold. Armiger was also the head sailing coach at Gunston Day School from 2004 to 2008 and spent time as the charter manager at Gratitude Yachting Center in Rock Hall.
Armiger sat on the Board of Directors of the Chester River Association from 2004 to 2008 and is a member of the local bluegrass band Chester River Runoff. He graduated from Colby College with honors in 1999, receiving a B.A. in American Studies.
