Five Varsity Student-Athletes, Field Hockey Team Win Campus Leadership Awards

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Five Washington College varsity student-athletes and one varsity team were honored with awards at the College's Leadership Awards Ceremony, presented by the Office of Student Engagement, Tuesday night.

Senior volleyball player Audrey Utchen (San Ramon, Calif./Monte Vista), who recently completed a term as SGA President, was one of four students to receive the Senior of the Year Award.

Senior swimmer and rower Maddie Morrissette (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) and senior swimmer Pat Elliott (Media, Pa./Salesianum School [Del.]) were the recipients of the Leadership in Athletics Award. 

Senior baseball player Mike Mann (Bellville, Texas / Lyme-Old Lyme [Conn.]) was named Peer Mentor of the Year, while freshman swimmer Will Hewitt (Frederick, Md./Urbana) was one of four students to be recognized with the First Year Leadership Award.

The field hockey team was honored with the Outstanding Service Project Award for their Make a Difference Campaign which raised funds for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Cancer Research Center.
