Q. In what conference does WC participate?
A: WC competes in the Centennial Conference for all sports except rowing and sailing. The conference includes Johns Hopkins, McDaniel, Swarthmore, Haverford, Ursinus, Muhlenberg, Gettysburg, Bryn Mawr, Dickinson, and Franklin & Marshall. Formed in 1993, the Centennial Conference, is comprised of national liberal arts colleges and universities in the region that share similar academic aspirations and a commitment to the importance of the total educational experience of students engaged in sports. All eleven member institutions are more than one hundred years old and are Division III members of the NCAA. In sailing, Washington is a member of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Associaition (MAISA), which is a district within the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA).

Q. How many students participate in the College's athletic & recreational programs?
A: Approx. 30% of the student body participates in a varsity sport and approx. 30% participate in a club sport or recreational program.
