Head Athletic
Trainer: Thad Moore has served as Washington College's head athletic trainer since 2000. Moore, who has been a certified athletic trainer since 1997, earned his B.S. in Physical Education from Salisbury in 1996 and his M.A. in Education with a concentration in Sports Management from Connecticut in 1999. He is presently working on his M.S. in Healthcare Administration. Prior to his arrival at Washington College, Moore worked as an intern at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and as the head athletic trainer at the Mark Mettrick Professional Soccer School. From 1997-2000, he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Connecticut, where he worked with the Huskies' football program. Moore is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the College Athletic Trainers Association. He is also a certified American Red Cross Instructor in first aid, CPR, and AED. Associate
Athletic Trainer: Cindy Maslanka was named Washington College's first associate athletic trainer during the summer of 2006. Maslanka came to Washington College from Salisbury University where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She earned her bachelor's degree from Elon University in North Carolina where she was named the Outstanding Major in Athletic Training in 2004. E-mail Cindy Maslanka. |

Assistant
Athletic Trainer: Meredith Madden, a 2007 graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, is in her first year as an assistant athletic trainer. She worked with the men's soccer, softball and men's ice hockey teams during her time at BU. She also worked with the Mount Ida College men's lacrosse team and with two high schools. Madden worked summer camps with the sports medicine staff at both Boston University and Boston College. She completed an internship with the Boston Cannons in Major League Lacrosse in 2006 and was a volunteer for the Boston Athletic Association and Winter Special Olympics. Madden was the Community Outreach and Awareness Chair for the Boston University Student Athletic Training Society for four years, and a Teaching Assistant for freshman and senior athletic training program in 2006-07. Assistant
Athletic Trainer: Mary Walczak is in her first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Washington College. A 2007 graduate of the College of Charleston in South Carolina, she graduated Cum Laude and with honors. She worked with the volleyball and baseball teams during her time at the C of C. Walczak was a Physical Education and Health Department Scholarship Award Recipient, served as the Vice President of the Student Sports Medicine Association and Athletic Training Representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. She also worked with local high schools during her time in South Carolina, and provided medical coverage for the Notre Dame Youth Sports Camps in the summer of 2006. E-mail Mary Walczak. |
