#5 Shoremen Swat #4 Hornets, 12-9, in NCAA's
Read Scores Five Goals for Washington in Second Round Win

Senior attackman Chris Read (Baltimore, MD/Boys Latin) scored five goals and assisted on two others as fifth-ranked host Washington College topped fourth-ranked Lynchburg, 12-9, in an NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament second round game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen improved to 14-3 with the win and advance to play Gettysburg in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday. The Hornets finish their season at 16-3.

#12 Shorewomen Race at ECAC's
Varsity Eight Wins Third-Level Final

The 12th-ranked Washington College women's rowing team competed in the varsity eight and varsity four at the ECAC National Invitational Championships held yesterday and today on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, MA. The Shorewomen's varsity eight won two races, winning a consolation semifinal and the third-level final.

WC Lightweights Advance to Dad Vail Final
Lightweights Finish Fourth Overall, Novices Make Semifinals

The Washington College men's rowing team's lightweight four finished second in both its heat and its semifinal race before finishing fourth in the final for the James J. Lynch Trophy at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta held yesterday and today on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The Shoremen's novice four advanced to the semifinals, where it finished third, at the regatta.

Shoremen Named All-Centennial
Read & Cohen Named to First Team

Seven Washington College men's lacrosse players have been named to the All-Centennial Conference team in a vote conducted by the conference's coaches. Senior attackman Chris Read (Baltimore, MD/Boys Latin) and junior goalie Gordon Cohen (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) were the Shoremen's first team selections. Senior attackman Kolyn Kirby (Chestertown, MD/Kent County), senior midfielder Nick Gregory (Riva, MD/South River), and junior face-off specialist Thayer Damm (Huntingdon Valley, PA/LaSalle) were named to the second team, while junior attackman Jimmy Kielek (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) and junior midfielder Casey O'Connor (Crownsville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) were honorable mention selections.
